Winter series 2015 - Final Results

The 6th Class Monkey’s series (also Bluebird Cup), recently completed had 15 entrants and an average fleet for each race of 10 boats. 15 races were completed with best 9 counting. Secret eventually won the series, with Drambuie 2nd and Nunyarra 3rd.

Chinna & Daff raided the silverware cupboard again to take the Bluebird trophy back to rather some Royals’ dust for another year.  Presented by Norm Price one of our Life members and regular great starter.

News & Events

The active Victorian Association and regular class racing on Port Phillip Bay enhance the Bluebird's popularity.

The Bluebird Yacht Association of Victoria currently has around 20 active yachts. Racing is conducted under the auspices of Hobson's Bay Yacht Club and includes a nine-heat winter series and a five-heat summer series.

The Association holds a number of social activities during the year including guest speakers.

Congratulations to the fleet for a great days racing with 13 boats finishing the first race (is that a record start to the series at least in the last 10 years?).  There was close competition around the course, which is what class racing is all about.  Congratulations to all place-getters.
On handicap; Race 1 PHS: 1st Blue Volvo, 2nd Bounty, 3rd AOI TORI, 4th Paramour, 5th Manjimup.
On handicap; Race 2 PHS: 1st Manjimup, 2nd AOI TORI , 3rd Hanini, 4th Nunyarra, 5th Bounty.
Day handicap winner was AOI TORI, with 2nd Manjimup, 3rd Bounty, 4th Blue Volvo.
Congratulations to Andrew King with his first race on AOI TORI.

Congratulations to the fleet for a great day's racing with 14 boats finishing the first race (beating last week’s record start to the series).  There was close competition around the course, with fluky winds making choices to tack or hold course difficult. 
Congratulations to all place-getters.
On handicap; Race 3 PHS: 1st Warranilla, 2nd Moody Blue, 3rd Secret, 4th Bounty.
On handicap; Race 4 PHS: 1st Kotare, 2nd Secret, 3rd Manjimup, 4th Hanini.
Day handicap winner was Warranilla, with 2nd Secret, 3rd Manjimup, 4th Kotare.
